So, it’s been quite some time since my last blog post. Over a year, to be very honest. Fear, uncertainty, failure and frustration. All of those things creep up when one is yearning to succeed in something other than what has been expected of them for so long.  I have a love for many things. Style/fashion, photography, design, calligraphy, etc. I created this blog so I could have a place to showcase all of that and maybe, just maybe work hard enough to make a living doing something I’m passionate about.  It’s coming along at it’s own pace and time. Little by little. Life’s journey is different for every single person. Every. Single. Person.

Cut to today. I will be working on styling (fashion/products/events), photography and design related projects.  The blog has a new look for now with the format and logo, so I hope you like it! I would love to collaborate with fellow stylists/photographers/designers as well! You can click on the gallery tab for past work and I’ll be updating it with new amazingness soon.  Making things happen.  Thanks for listening and following along on this little journey of mine, my sweet internet friends.  I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Let’s be real. Who doesn’t love Instagram? You can follow me everywhere! Click away at the top right corner of the page.  Fun. Fearless. Free.  That’s my goal & motto for the rest of 2014 and the future. Running is a great stress reliever. Just sayin’.

So, this message has been in the works for a good 5 years now, since I started writing my blog in April of 2008. I have always loved photography, style and design. For like EVER. I began to teach myself and define my shooting style over the last few years. That part is always a work in progress but for me, simplicity is best. I love fashion, interior and product design and occasionally post my favorites on the blog. I decided to blend all these things together with

I’m happy to say that this year will bring all new things to Marniestyle. For real, this time. A new website/blog design is in the works and a fun project or two. Marniestyle will focus on Maternity, Newborns, Lifestyle/Product shoots as well as my style and design ideas. I’m working on a series called “Mamas with Style” that combines two of my favorite things. Maternity photography and Style. Yay!!!

Here’s where my peeps come in! If you know of any expectant mamas-to-be or mamas with newborns, and/or adoptive mothers that would be interested in a photo session, please let me know. Feel free to contact me with any questions and for more details about the “Mamas with Style” sessions at

If you are interested in a product/design shoot or Stylist opportunity, I would love to work with you! Please email me at or contact me through my FB Page. Did I say I was excited? Oh yeah, I can’t wait to meet all of you!!!

With Love & Style,
Mary Sullivan

Kristin Wiig of Saturday Night Live and Bridesmaids fame has such a great sense of style and can pull most any outfit off. Kristin’s style is sometimes simple, sometimes rocker chic and sometimes just plain gorg. I think that’s because she has confidence. Confidence is sexy. Confidence makes a world of difference whether you are working in an office, meeting friends for happy hour or going on a first date. I have found more confidence in a friend wearing a t-shirt, jeans and a pair of Toms than I’ve had in a coworker wearing a suit and tie. True story.

I love her hair and make up in this photo…the messy updo is my absolute fav. Maybe I should go Brunette???

Next up on the blog: a newborn session, design/stylist sessions, and home decor fav’s. Oh, and I’m thinking about branding, a website, new blog, new endeavors….soooo excited for all things new. It may take a while, but stay with me!!

Leah is a sweet little thing.  She was adopted by my very good friends Lori and Mark about 2 months ago.  It was perfect timing because they had been wanting to become parents for a very long time.  I’m extremely happy and excited for the both you and the journey you’re about to experience.  I hope you enjoy these photos and cherish your time with Leah, because as we know, time goes by very fast and she’ll be ready to date in a few years!!!

Here are a few more from our afternoon with Leah.

Here’s a sneak peek at Leah!   She’s a very lucky little lady and I will tell you her story in my next blog post.

Officially, on April 28th, my blog turned 3 years old!  I can’t believe how fast the time goes.   2011 is proving to be a  very challenging but exciting year so far, personally and professionally.  I’m vowing to blog more, as I always do…but I never quite achieve as much as I would like.  Next up on the blog is the 2011 Relay for Life of Macungie.    I shot the event last year because I had several friends participating and had never experienced an event like it.   To my excitement, I was asked back to shoot the event this year.  I can’t wait to blog about it because there are so many amazing people involved!

I truly hope the next half of 2011 turns out to be fabulous.   I’m going to need a lot of prayer, patience and positivity.  No one is going to live my life for me, so I have to Make Things Happen.  I’m taking on more photography opportunities that come my way and really honing in on what my shooting style is.  Practice, Practice, Practice.   Design and style are always apart of anything I do…and I’m loving the design and vintage inspired shoots happening, and fashion, fashion, fashion!  I would  love an opportunity to help style a shoot  as well, in the future.  I’m extremely excited about that.   I love Jill Thomas of Jill Thomas Photography! Her style and fashion sense seem so effortless and simple, but gorgeous in the same way.  Nothing is perfect, nor does it have to be.  That’s what I get from her…and I love that.  She does a lot of fashion/styled shoots in addition to her lifestyle photography.

This is what I need right now.  I really hope a trip is in order sometime this summer/fall.  I don’t know where, but some peace and happiness is in order!  Another one of my fav photos from Puerto Rico a few years back.   The serenity of the beach gets me every time!

LOVE!!!   Well,  we actually went to Target to get a garbage can…which we did.  Who goes to Target and purchases just one item?  No one.   I’m constantly looking for the right throw pillows and I have vowed not to settle!  These are perfect.  I love the color and design of them.  They go really well with the color and texture of our couch.    I love me some Target.

Check out my guest blog post over at Passport to Design.  Tania blends her love of design and travel into her blog that includes gorgeous photos of architecture, textiles, colors and so much more more.  Today I’m honored to be a featured as a guest blogger.  I decided to include photos of  our trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico a few years ago.  I just loved the El San Juan Hotel and Casino, and Old San Juan!  Take a peek and let me know what you think!

Kenny and I took this trip almost 4 years ago, so it’s definitely time for another vacation.  To where, and when is the question.   That might just have to be the subject of my next blog post!   Not before my Blogiversary post!  MarnieStyle turns 3 on April 24th!
